France Getting Tough on Anti-Piracy

January 19, 2010

It seems that France has succumbed to the pressure to create a three strikes and you are out system for file downloading. French users online will find that if they get caught they will get a letter warning them to not be naughty and not to do it again. As a result, many people will look to find ways that they can download files without getting into trouble.

Usenet is one that has been listed by TorrentFreak.com. They say that the savvy users will instead turn to Usenet. By paying just a few euros a month, they can get access to information without the fear of their internet being shut off. We do not condone illegal file sharing, but Usenet is being hailed as the last bastion of free information sharing!
