Wambles NZB Review
Wambles is a new NZB indexer. It runs on Newznab. The site has some great features on it, such as a most-recently indexed page that lets you see the latest things that have been added to USENET. Categories are nicely broken down so that you can easily browse through listings if you don’t know what you want going in.
The developer, Xcelsius, has been making improvements to the site since it launched and is taking feedback on their forums.

According to their forum “At the end of August user roles will begin to change. I’m unable to break even on server and bandwidth costs on donations alone. So as such I’ll need to implement tiers of service based on your needs. I’ve been working very hard to build and make improvements to the site and will continue to do so as long as there are users who can appreciate it. The tiered plans I had in mind are below. Feel free to comment, also I thought it would be a good idea to offer Founder level access for $10 if payment is made before the end of August. As such you will be locked in at Founder status and will be able to retain that level at the Supporter rate during each years renewal.”
- FreeLoader – free – 40 API hits and 10 NZB Downloads per day.
- Supporter – $10/yr – 200 API hits and 100 NZB Downloads per day.
- Founder – $20/yr – 1000 API hits and 500 NZB Downloads per day.
For this time being, site does not have information regarding on how to upgrade accounts. If you have questions or comments feel free to contact them using their contact form.
Their service is a completely automated usenet indexing engine for Console, Movies, Audio, PC, TV, XXX, Book and more, it is excellent for those who use applications such as;
This site should look familiar to anyone who’s used an NZB indexer before. The site features category listings along the top, with the very top of the page being occupied by a bar that allows you to subscribe to RSS feeds, get assistance using the API and perform other tasks. The site is completely automated, so the listings won’t be manually cleaned up as they are on some other sites.
For those interested in using various download managers and PVRs, the site supports Plex, Sickbeard, SABnzbd and Couch Potato. There are links right on the site that take you to the official sites of the various downloaders that Wambles works with.
The site has had some issues. A message on the site on June 27 apologized for some recent downtime.
For those who are using an API, the site currently limits users to 100 calls/downloads per day. This might be lower than paid sites that some users subscribe to, but it’s always nice to have a backup in case something isn’t indexed on one’s primary NZB site as of yet.

This site is clearly just getting started, but it has a very nice interface and the developer seems responsive to feedback, both very good signs. With so many NZB sites going offline lately, it’s nice to have another one coming up to help people find the content that they want.
Keep in mind that this is automated, so you might have to be a bit more cognizant of what you’re downloading and will have to make sure you’re not getting fake files. There was an issue with fake codec posts that has been taken care of recently.
Overall, this looks promising. It has great category organization that makes it fun to browse around and see what’s out there. This is worth taking a look at. Registration is quick and easy, so there’s no reason to not add it to your list of resources.
