NZBtor.cr, just as the name implies, is working to bridge the gap between NZB files and torrents. This nZEDb based NZB site is relatively new, but the people behind it are working at getting their hardware enhanced and plan on growing. Eventually, they want to provide a site that allows visitors to use both torrent and NZB files, and to do so securely.
The site is currently operating at a loss, according to the builders, but they’re soldiering on and working toward making the site very easy to use. They’re not looking to make a profit so much as working toward building a site that offers some of the sense of community that characterized USENET in the past, but they do have a membership plan in the works.
As for competing with the biggest NZB sites out there, NZBtor.cr acknowledges that they have a lot of work ahead of them, but that they have the resources they need to do that and are moving forward rapidly with their plans.
NZBtor.cr is planning on implementing a membership option in the near future, which they want to make affordable. It will offer some enhancements over the current free memberships at the site.
The developers at NZBtor.cr are adding releases regularly and, at present, are updating the over three million already in their database.
Where their hardware is concerned, they admit that they have some catching up to do relative to the big sites out there, but they’re working toward that goal. They’re opening up a TOR node in the near future, as well.
They plan on changing their menu system and implementing several other ideas as they continue to develop the site.
NZBtor.cr seems to have some very forward-thinking people behind it. If they achieve their goals, USENET users will have a site that offers both torrents and NZBs and that provides a high degree of security; definitely something to look forward to.
