In order to deliver a new and better USENET experience, premium USENET provider Giganews partnered with Golden Frog in an event which occurred in July. Back then, they invited their most loyal members of Diamond package to try Golden Frog Usenet Search and Mimo Usenet Browser. They invited them so the members could help in development, simply by giving their thoughts about user experience.
After a few months of testing, beta release of Mimo and Golden Frog Usenet Search is now available for all Diamond Giganews members. In the past few months, over 450 features were either added or fixed. The majority of users requested bandwidth throttling feature, which is now available. Therefore, the new Mimo version has an option to control the Internet connection bandwidth usage. Language support is also updated; currently, six languages are available.
The creation of Mimo and its integrated Usenet search was actually something that was necessary in order to accommodate the Giganews™ increasing retention and therefore, this new solution is the only cross-platform Usenet browser available on the market which can use the maximum capacity of Giganews™ retention (more than 800 days).
Definitely, this is not where the story stops, especially as this is an only beta release. Active development will continue and users are encouraged to report any bugs they encounter.
All these features come with all Giganews Diamond memberships.
In a series of tests we have conducted, we have concluded that we can give a prestigious œbest overall grade to Giganews USENET provider. If you are interested in some other great USENET providers, feel free to check our list of best USENET service providers.
