On December 9th of 2102 the popular website NZBMatrix announced they were closing their doors effective immediately, this move has left the USENET community looking for alternatives.
Hopefully in this article we can give you some ideas for alternatives.
If you haven’t chosen a USENET service yet or you are willing to switch and try out another low cost provider our first suggestion would be to check out Newshosting’s USENET service.
Newshosting and especially their associated Newshosting newsreader offers a way to effectively search USENET. Check out the following links for more information.
Another alternative – a more expensive one – would be the Mimo Newsreader which is bundled with Giganews Diamond USENET service. Although their service at $30/month (with UsenetReviewz’s discount link) is expensive, they do have the best quality USENET service plus it comes bundled with another high quality VPN service – VyprVPN.
Also recently Giganews announced the integration of an online file storage production called Dumptruck which is very similar in usage and quality to the well known product dropbox. You would get 30GB of online file storage with the Giganews Diamond plan.
If you aren’t interested in signing up or switching to a USENET service with a built in search service you could signup with Newsbin search ( not to be confused with Newzbin).
Newsbin is one of our top USENET newreaders ($25 lifetime upgrades included). Newsbin also offers a high quality USENET search feature that is just a dollar or so every month.

If you want to stick with your existing newsreader or you SABNzbd as your USENET newsreader as an example and you would like to keep using NZB sites. Don’t worry!
There are good alternatives to NZBMatrix and it seems there will be for the foreseeable future.
Check out our list of top NZB sites for the best and current alternatives ( we try to keep our list up to date)
First on our list would be NZBsRus — https://usenetreviewz.com/nzbsrus-review/ – they aren’t as good as NZBMatrix but they are pretty good. The downside is that you need to pay $10 once via Bitcoin to join their site. $10 seems pretty reasonable however bitcoin may be intimidating initially
Second on our list would be a new (as of Sept 2012) Newznab site called Usenet-Crawler.com. https://usenetreviewz.com/usenet-crawler-review/ . This is a Newznab site simliar to nzbs.org and nzb.su however it is open to the public.
Third on our NZB site list would be new hybrid search / indexing site called newnzb. Check them out – https://usenetreviewz.com/newnzb-review/ . They are also new and an up and coming NZB site. They filter existing USENET data. Its not exactly clear if they delete all the fake releases at this point but in our tests they did. One important point is that newnzb seems to keep improving. Recently they added some cool features like https and RSS integration to make searches more secure and automation easier.
Finally if our recommended newsreaders and new NZB sites don’t appeal to you then our final recommendation would be to install programs like Sickbeard or Couchpotato.
Sickbeard and Couchpotato are high quality software products that integrate with over Internet database like tvrage.com, imdb.com.

Also worth mentioning we will be giving out invites to invite only NZB sites in the near future so stay tuned.
