NZB 3.0 Out, Sickbeard In
NZB 3.0 has just come out onto the market for Android devices. This remote management tool even comes with a 15-minute free trial. If you don’t like the way the app works, you have 15 minutes to ask for a refund and it will be granted. According to a lot of the chatter going on about NZB 3.0, however, there’s a good chance that you won’t want to get that refund, after all. The app even supports Sickbeard now, so its functionality has been expanded.
The App
The app supports Sickbeard, NZBMatrix and SABnzbd. The most important features of the app include the easy navigation, the streamlined interface and the fact that it merges all of your NZB management into that one interface.
With this app and SABnzbd, you can pause or delete items in your queue, utilize categories to organize your queue, add an NZB by file name or by URL and, importantly for people who want to make sure that their privacy is protected as much as possible, it supports SSL. There are a slew of other features, as well.
Sickbeard and NZBMatrix all have features that go along with those applications quite well. For example, NZBMatrix users will be able to send any of the content that they find on this service directly to SABnzbd. They’ll also be able to search the entire NZBMatrix index.
SickBeard support allows you to view any videos that you are looking for that you haven’t downloaded yet and to get multiple layout views for any videos that you want. You can search for individual episodes in a series of videos and, of course, it supports SSL. (See also our list of best NZB site)
Interface
The interface is very clean, gives you all the information you need and nothing more. The only problems that have been reported by users are thumbnails for videos loading slowly or incorrectly, which the developer has already addressed and plans to fix by changing the app so that images load at a lower resolution in memory.
Other than that one single issue, all of the feedback for NZB 3.0 on the Internet has been very positive. Overall, users seem very impressed with the interface, how easy it is to use and how well it integrates with the other apps that they use to get their favorite videos. The bug related to slow loading images is slated to be fixed in the new release of the app, which should be coming soon.
