Giganews Offers Improvements and Discounts
For users on the Giganews USENET service, the Diamond account is the most feature-rich option. Giganews is currently offering a special for the summer that allows you to sign up for the Diamond account for $17.49 per month for three months. This amounts to over $50 in savings compared to signing up at the regular price of $34.99 per month.
Diamond accounts include 30 gigabytes of storage on the Dump Truck online storage service, access to the VyprVPN service and use of the Mimo USENET browser, which provides search functionalities and handles NZB files and other USENET formats.
USENET services generally do offer discounts in the summer, as usage in the northern hemisphere tends to drop off a bit when it’s warm out and people are more interested on getting away from their computers rather than sitting behind them. Giganews is doing more than offering specials, however. The provider is also offering some significant improvements to their services that should be particularly interesting to power users.
Go Mobile
Mobile devices are becoming more and more versatile, and people are using them for everything up to and including controlling their desktop PCs. Giganews recently released apps for both the Android and iOS operating systems, both of which have a host of features that add quite a bit to their service.
Android phone users, iPad users and iPhone users will now be able to access their Giganews accounts from their mobile devices. You’ll be able to check your usage and your transfer history, contact support services, read the blog and keep up-to-date with whatever the USENET service has available in terms of news releases. None of these features, however nice they may be, can hold a candle to the most significant offering on this mobile app.
The Giganews mobile app allows you to disconnect VyprVPN connections remotely. The great thing about this is that, if you happen to be on a bandwidth limited account, you can make certain that you didn’t accidentally leave your VPN on when you left the house. If you did, you can just disconnect it.
New and Improved
Giganews already offers an impressive collection of services. Combining VPN service –VyprVPN is also offered sperately by Golden Frog – with USENET service, storage and a proprietary USENET browser, Giganews provides users with a lot for their money. With the summer discounts and the additional applications being provided for mobile devices, the service has only improved and become even more interesting as an option for USENET and VPN.
