Giganews Announces A VyprVPN App Is Available
In the past 18 months the marriage of Giganews and Golden Frog has netted the Giganews customers a lot of special add-ons, feartures, aand improvements. And they are both saying that with a partnership that is going so well, they aren’t nearly finished making things better for the Giganews users. The latest addition to the list: An application for the VyprVPN service.
What The Application Does For You
The new Giganews application to control VyprVPN will start out by configuring connections automatically…but that isn’t all it will do. Here’s the list of the basic functions that it will take care of:
- Easily access controls from the Windows notification area.
- VyprVPN server locations can be changed as simply as a single click.
- Protocols can be changed as easily as the server locations.
- Currently only Windows XP, and newer, supported. But, there are already apps in the works for the Mac and Linux users.
That’s the short list of the simple controls available to the users, but there are more advanced features for the more advanced users. Here are a few of them:
- When connecting to an unsecured network, VyprVPN will be automatically activated. The configuration on this feature can be changed though.
- Auto detection of dropped secured connections, and will prompt the user for reconnection. Also configurable to your liking.
- Recent protocols, and server locations are quickly accessible.
- Auto updating of the L2TP and OpenVPN security certificates.
This app is free to all Giganews members that are subscribed for the VyprVPN services. The download is easy, only a 17 MB download, and installation is just a simple click away after the download. Since the app will automatically configure itself you shouldn’t have any problems.
