Giganews Announcement: 1,200 Days Of Retention
Over the last few weeks the development team has been rather busy over at Golden Frog and Giganews rolling out updates, improvements, and added services. So much so that we worried about the guys suffering from insomnia. Their latest announcement is: 1,200 days of retention have been reached. That’s more than three years of Usenet binaries to search through…what were you doing 3 years ago? Now you can find posts as far back as August 2008.
The Latest Greatest Offerings
Let’s take a look at the the latest announcements coming from the Giganews camp over the last few weeks…
Early rollout for Dumptruck access for their Diamond account holders.- 3 updates to their Mimo Usenet browser.
- VyprVPN servers added in both France, and Germany.
- Dumptruck gets WebDAV support.
- Now, the 3 years and 3 months of retention.
In case you didn’t know, they have reduced their price for a short time by more than 50%, and they will still give you 14 days free access to let you test drive their service. Giganews is now offering their Diamond plan for only $17.49 per month. We can’t vouch for how long they will be making this special offer, so if you are considering a Giganews you need to act quickly, and take advantage of the 14 free days.
They do have other plans that cost a little less, for those that are very budget minded, but this is the best deal we have seen them offer in a while, so we are wondering what their Christmas special will be…
One After Another, After Another
The announcement came on the 18th of November, and then shortly following their announcement of increased retention, (on the 22nd,) they also announced that the Golden Frog team had completed their work on a new VyprVPN server in Germany and it was online. We are just amazed at how hard the development teams are working, these guys really deserve a great Christmas bonus and an extra long year end break. But, the rumor mill says that they are still conspiring and planning to keep the improvements going through the next year.
What They Are Really Offering
With their plans, Giganews offers a lot of Usenet to their customers in the form of retention, tools, and locations. Here’s a short look at their offerings:
Unlimited or metered access.- Speeds limited only by your ISP.
- Some of the best server locations.
- Multiple connections. From 10 to 50 concurrent.
- World class support 24/7/365.
- Mimo browser free, VyprVPN, and the Giganews accelertator.
Once again, if you are considering Usenet access, and who to chose for your provider, we highly recommend Giganews. They are one of the top Usenet providers we report on, and our constant reports on their increased offerings is proof of their drive to give their customers only the best in Usenet access.
