50 SSL connections are included on all accounts by default.

Other Nice Features

The Grabit newsreader is a great addition to this service. You’ll have access to a search feature, as well, which is a necessity when you’re trying to comb through the vast amount of content on the USENET system.

FastUsenet has great customer service. They’re nice and helpful and make it a lot easier for people who might be less experienced with USENET and who might need an assist now and then. Overall, this service has a lot to offer. Their retention rates are good and their plans are broad. The free trial is very generous.

Conclusion

FastUsenet offers great retention rates, good pricing and enough options to let even casual users find something that will suit them well. Overall, this service is worth checking out. With the long free trial, you don’t have to rush through the process of assessing them, either.

Recommendation

This is a good choice in providers. Their retention rates are competitive and their pricing is attractive. They’re definitely worth taking a look at. You might want to check out our other providers, as well, if you’re in the market for a new account.

A follow up. Since they had a server upgrade it’s reliable 95% of the time so I decided to stick with it. Secure access is still only limited to one or two simultaneous connections and thats when it works at all, which isn’t very often. But then what usenet provider does have a reliable secure port? Giganews possibly, but then look at their prices.

I used this service for three months – not a single problem at all. I was on their cheapest plan, 6GB for $2.95 a month. The auto renew went thru fine and my speeds were excellent, however I only have a 16Mb/s connection and I was getting consistent 1800-2100KB/s speeds.
