2012 Just The Usenet Basics Award: Supernews
Just as the name implies, this award of for the Usenet provider that provides the best basics…simply access. We don’t count all the newsreaders that go with the service, or the extras, like Giganews’ Dump Truck access, we count only the servers, speeds, retention rates, dependability, and service…pure, simple, Usenet access. And this year, we picked Supernews. They provide all the mentioned items, and their service is beyond excellent.
2011 For Supernews
The last year went real smooth for Supernews…no break downs, no issues with speed, only updating their retention rates…which by the way, are up to 1,257 days on the binary side, and 3137 days on text retention. One of the best retention rates available today. Their servers are based both in the U.S. and Europe, so connection speeds should never be an issue anywhere in N. America or anywhere in Europe. They allow you to have up to 30 concurrent connections even when you are using VPN’s or SSL. Here are a few of the highlights of their service:
Only a single plan available, unlimited access.- Unlimited speeds, only your connection counts against you.
- Retention Rates of 1,257 days for binary, and 3,137 days on the text.
- Maximum of 30 concurrent connections.
- Support on a 24/7/364 basis.Hundreds of thousands of newsgroups, and posts.
Suprenews In Our News
Since Supernews had such a quiet year for them, (a good thing for this category,) we only had call to write about their retention rate increases. The one post we had explained that their retention rate would be updated on a daily basis for a while, so our retention rates posted here could already be out of date, but this is also a good thing in this category. With this win we predict that Supernews will be having another outstanding year, and frequent retention rate updates…kind of a loaded prediction! If you wouldd like to know more about Supernews we have a full review of their services, and highly recommend them.
